Amanda & Alex - Engagement Session

We first met Alex through Subsidum, Inc. Like us, he and his mom, along with the rest of the family have a heart for the Memphis Oral School for the Deaf. Through that connection, we were asked to photograph Alex and Amanda as they approach their wedding day. Amanda seems to be a lovely addition to their family. I loved the images that they will soon see, but here are a few of my favorites. What a beautiful & loving couple!

Recently, Richard photographed Mary and Jerryd's engagement session. (Even though Richard doesn't photograph weddings, we often photograph Bridal portraits and engagement portraits.) New Frames!

New frames are exciting to me! I love to see the new textures and scrolls, the different designs, more simplistic frames, the different colors, etc. Frames are an extension to your portrait. A frame can make or break a great portrait! You don't want a frame that is too busy or one that isn't thick enough or one that is too light or dark, the frame has to compliment the portrait. It's got to be the perfect frame for your portrait.

Well all the excitement about frames is because I received in a new set of corner samples this week. I found out another of our suppliers does custom molding as well as ready-mades so I HAD to order a few corner samles. Here are a few examples of the new corner pieces. These are just a few, and these pictures don't even begin to do them justice! I hope you like the new moldings we'll be carrying.

Busy, Busy Bees!

We have been busy, busy bees! We've spent a lot of time on the commercial, and our Spring Special. (Those mailers went out last week!) And now we're working on 2010 Senior Specials; Senior season starts in another month!!





The first part of the spring is spent making sure everyone knows about all the specials going on and deciding what our specials are going to be throughout all of 2009. Of course, in the mean time, we are still doing regular sessions, and filling last minute wallet orders for our 2009 Seniors graudation invites. So, I guess you can see why I haven't been able to spend as much time blogging. To make up for the lack in blogging, here are a few portraits from a few recent sessions. Enjoy!

Editing Finished, Commercial Airs Sunday

Well, this is the final product. We look forward to seeing it on air for the first time this Sunday morning. Take a look for it, and let us know what you think. It will air twice Sunday on Channel 5, once between 7:15-8am and again between 8-9am. We're so excited!

Small Moments: Gracyn

Gracyn was photographed recently; this is the final result from her session. It looks beautiful in Grandma's home. We also filmed Gracyn's session to use in our Small Moments video/commercial. We'll soon see it on TV!

Small Moments: Zoe Grace

Zoe's Small Moment:
Zoe is 3 years old, and it was obvious when she walked through the studio. She was so interested in everything around her, everything she said started with "Why?" or "What's that?" She had a great time; she laughed and played with Mr. Richard. They played with the bubbles, squeezed the bike horn, and threw the ball. Before she knew it, it was time to go home and she got to pick out a lolly-pop. Of course, she couldn't just get one for herself, she needed to pick one out for brother too.

Mom's Small Moment:
Zoe Grace was first photographed by Ramsey Photography at the age of 1, two months after her parents adopted her. It's evident that Ms. Shawna cherishes every second of her daughter's life. As she watched Richard photograph Zoe she was reminded that Zoe held that rose in her 1yr portrait. It brought tears to her eyes. It seems like just yesterday they brought her home and now she's 3. We're reminded, how fast they grow up and just how special they are!

It's the small moments we treasure so much.

Showcase in Painter Magazine

Richard is an avid reader of Painter Magazine, and will share some of his paintings from time to time in the "art gallery" on their website. He was approached a few months back from the publishers of the magazine and was told they would like to possibly showcase one of his images. Considering Painter Magazine is an international magazine, he of course said yes, but thought it was a long shot with so many artist submitting images to the magazine's gallery on a daily bases. Needless to say, it was a pleasant surprise to open the special edition magazine today and see Richard's image showcased. THIS TRULY IS AN HONOR!!

CHILDREN & SNOW!!!

Well, as you all know, its SNOWED!! this weekend. Lots of pretty white snow. Even though the schools are out today in Tipton County, the Children's Classic is still on. Don't miss your appointment! The Covington Children's Classic

As you can see Covington's Children's Classic is well under way. Its day 3 in the 7+ day event. Every year there is a HUGE publication in the town paper, The Leader (The Covington Leader); it's a brag book of sorts for the parents. In this event Richard and his son Phil photograph the children of Tipton County ages 0-6yrs. A new child every 8 mins for 8 hours a day. Needless to say, they are exhausted when they go home at night, but they both love it, and wouldn't have it any other way!!

By donating their session fee(s), the parents of each child partner with us to make a monetary donation to The Carl Perkins Center. In addition, each parent receives a complimentary 5x7 as a "thank you" from Richard and Phil for helping support this great cause. We all play a part in making our community a great place to live; and the Children's Classic allows Richard and Phil a way of being active in that endeavor. In this together, using the Children's Classic as a medium, over the years, we have raised over $100,000 for The Carl Perkins Center!!! But the most rewarding part of the week is the knowledge of knowing EVERYONE involved did something to help a child in need.

Sweet Abby

Abby was too sweet, she was all smiles, except for when she was hungry. But even then she was a good baby. Abby brought one of her big sister's with her to watch. Maddie had a great time blowing bubbles and watching magic tricks, she was very well behaved. Here is an image from Abby's 3 month portrait session. We look forward to watching her grow through the "Small Moments: Baby's First Year" portrait plan.
